Full-Time Grocery Clerk

About the role

Join the Metro team at Food Basics as a Grocery Clerk. You will help keep the store well‑stocked, clean and welcoming for customers, working flexible shifts including days, evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Unload deliveries, organize products in the backroom or cooler, and restock shelves using the first‑in‑first‑out method.
• Maintain clean aisles, sweep and mop floors, and promptly address spills to ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Assist customers by locating items, answering product questions, and providing recommendations.
• Set up and maintain promotional displays, update signage and price tags, and perform price checks.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts, report discrepancies, and help with special tasks or projects as assigned.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with the ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
• Retail experience is an asset; ability to work under minimal supervision and flexible shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Attention to detail, good product knowledge, and ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
