Environmental Service Worker (Laundry Aide) - Long Term Care

About the role

S&R Group is hiring a part-time Environmental Service Worker (housekeeping laundry aide) for its long-term care facility in Cambridge. The role keeps residents' homes welcoming, safe and hygienic through laundry, disinfection and room cleaning.

Key responsibilities

• Wash and dry residents' clothing and linens so they are returned fresh and in good condition
• Disinfect and clean to support infection control
• Clean residents' rooms and common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting and bathrooms
• Follow WHMIS guidelines and safe handling procedures for cleaning products
• Adhere to Health and Safety Standards to help maintain a safe environment
• Work as part of a team, assisting coworkers and covering shifts on days, evenings and weekends, including last-minute call-ins

Required profile

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in housekeeping and laundry (healthcare or hospitality experience is an asset)
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
• TB 2 Step test updated within the last year

Required skills

• Ability to operate commercial laundry and cleaning equipment such as washers, dryers, auto-scrubbers and vacuums
