Engineering Manager

About the role

BASF is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering and maintenance functions at its Petrochemicals site in Cornwall, Ontario. You will be responsible for overseeing capital projects, maintenance budgets, safety, and compliance while driving continuous improvement across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an annual maintenance budget of up to $3 M.
• Develop and execute the site’s long‑term capital plan with an annual spend of up to $5 M.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, BASF standards, and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Supervise a maintenance supervisor and two engineers, and oversee third‑party engineering and maintenance contractors.
• Lead change management, contractor safety, process safety, and automation security initiatives.
• Act as Deputy Site Manager in the absence of the Site Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licence.
• Minimum five years of leadership experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of capital planning, maintenance management and project management.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, MMP or CMRP are encouraged.
