Emerging Leader in Translational Quantitative Biomedical Imaging

About the role
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UBC invites applications for a Canada Impact+ Emerging Leader in Health and Biotechnology focused on Translational Quantitative Biomedical Imaging. This tenure‑track Assistant Professor position starts on July 1 2027 and will lead an independent research program developing quantitative imaging methods and probes to address clinically important questions.
Key responsibilities
- Build and lead an independent research program in quantitative biomedical imaging, including development of imaging biomarkers for inflammation, fibrogenesis, fibrosis, and drug action.
- Teach and supervise courses and research projects in the BPSc, PharmD, MSc and PhD programs, as well as new programs under development.
- Conduct advanced imaging research using MRI, PET, CT and multimodal, multiparametric image analyses from pre‑clinical studies to early‑stage clinical trials.
- Collaborate with UBC, TRIUMF, BC Cancer, affiliated hospitals and emerging research centres to foster partnerships, knowledge translation and commercialization.
Required profile
- Early‑career researcher (within 5 years of first independent appointment) and internationally based as of July 1 2026.
- PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification with strong post‑doctoral, clinical or industry research experience.
- Outstanding publication record and demonstrated potential to secure national or international research funding.
- Proven excellence in teaching, mentoring and a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and decolonization.
- Willingness to engage in collegial service and interdisciplinary collaboration.
