Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 visits annually, providing acute care to a diverse community.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage emergency patients across a broad spectrum of conditions.
• Perform a variety of emergency procedures and collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.

Required profile

• Current CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice in Canada (Canadian graduate or IMGs with appropriate licensing).
• Commitment to serving a rural community and interest in expanding scope of practice.
