Mental Wellness Clinical Lead

About the role

The Mental Wellness Clinical Lead will direct the Mental Wellness Team of registered clinicians serving the six Tŝilhq’in communities in Williams Lake, BC. This senior position provides strategic leadership, program development and oversight of mental health services, ensuring culturally appropriate care and alignment with the Nation’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and expand a team of clinicians delivering wrap‑around mental health services across all six communities.
• Develop, implement and monitor mental health policies, programs, education and resources.
• Report on initiatives, manage the mental health budget and liaise with regional boards and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on social‑emotional programming and establish partnership protocols.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Counselling or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
• At least ten years of direct care experience, including three years working with Aboriginal clients or communities.
• Registration in good standing with a BC mental health professional body (e.g., BCACC, CCPA).

Required skills

• Cultural competency and knowledge of First Nations cultural humility and safety protocols.
• Strong understanding of Indigenous traditional and holistic mental health modalities and relevant BC mental health legislation.
