Emergency Medicine Locum – Penticton Regional Hospital

About the role

PRH is seeking certified emergency physicians for a long‑term locum position in the Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department. The role offers the chance to work in a busy regional trauma centre while enjoying the lifestyle and recreation of the South Okanagan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to a diverse patient population, supporting approximately 41,000 annual visits.
• Collaborate with a team of 18 emergency physicians and specialist consultants.
• Utilise on‑site CT and MRI imaging to diagnose and manage urgent cases.
• Participate in teaching activities for UBC Southern Medical Program students and family practice residents.

Required profile

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada – Emergency, or Certificate of Canadian Family Practitioners – Emergency.
• Current licensure to practice medicine in Canada.
• Commitment to a flexible locum term of roughly 6‑9 months, with potential for permanent employment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in emergency medicine clinical practice.
• Experience interpreting CT and MRI imaging in acute settings.
