Drill Assistant & Class 1 Driver

About the role

Geotech Drilling, a member of the ConeTec Group, is seeking a reliable Drill Assistant who also holds a Class 1 driver’s licence to support drilling operations across western Canada. The role combines hands‑on rig assistance with the safe transport of equipment and materials to remote job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and supply the driller with tooling, drill rods, casing, core tubes and samples.
• Maintain inventory levels of materials, supplies and tooling for the rig and support vehicles.
• Assist the driller, client and team members as needed, including regular lifts of 50‑90 lb.
• Safely operate Class 1 trucks and trailers (lowbeds, flatbeds, specialized) to move rigs, tools, fuel and materials.
• Complete required paperwork, inspections and logbooks.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 driver’s licence.
• 1‑3 years experience in geotechnical or environmental drilling (preferred).
• Ability to work in remote locations and varied weather for extended periods.
• Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
• Strong knowledge of NSC documentation and logbook use.
