Director of Pharmacy

About the role

The Director of Pharmacy provides strategic leadership for medication management across inpatient and outpatient services at both sites of the Brant Community Healthcare System. Reporting to the Vice President Clinical Services/CNE, the role drives system transformation, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and oversees a $13 million corporate drug budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and optimize medication management activities for all patients across both hospital sites.
• Develop, implement, and monitor corporate medication management goals aligned with organizational priorities.
• Chair the Medication Safety Committee and the Opioid Stewardship Committee, driving quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Ontario College of Pharmacists and Accreditation Canada medication management standards, including annual inspections.
• Manage the pharmacy team’s human‑resource functions, including supervisors, pharmacists, technicians, assistants, and students.
• Oversee policy development, risk and patient‑safety incident management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Maintain fiscal responsibility for the $13 million drug budget, providing analytical insight for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading large‑scale pharmacy or medication‑management transformations.
• Strong business acumen with experience managing multi‑million‑dollar budgets.

• Experience collaborating with clinical, non‑clinical, and executive leaders.
