Director of Business Development – Aerospace

About the role

The Canadian Commercial Corporation is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead its Aerospace sector initiatives. You will be responsible for expanding Canada’s aerospace exports by building strong relationships with Canadian exporters and international buyers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide market expertise and sector insights to identify innovation opportunities and increase Canadian market share.
• Gather and manage sector market intelligence, support exporter activity, and negotiate contracts with international partners.
• Collaborate with project and pursuit teams, ensuring risk mitigation and successful deal closure.
• Identify, prospect, and qualify export sales opportunities within targeted international markets.
• Prepare and present reports, analyses, and submissions for senior committees and government ministers.
• Travel domestically and internationally to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of Canadian aerospace capabilities and export processes.
• Proven ability to build and sustain relationships with exporters and international decision‑makers.
• Experience managing complex international contracts and navigating government procurement frameworks.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel frequently for business development activities.
