Assistant Store Manager – Retail

About the role

At Saje Natural Wellness, a purpose‑driven retailer, the Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in leading daily operations, developing the team and delivering an excellent in‑store experience. The role balances operational oversight, business acumen and a people‑centric approach to grow productivity and profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Attract, hire, train and retain team members, administer performance reviews and create succession plans.
• Partner with the Store Manager to develop annual and quarterly strategic plans focused on people, operations, visual merchandising and community outreach.
• Drive business results by meeting KPIs such as revenue growth, average transaction value, traffic, conversion, loyalty program expansion and labour targets.
• Maintain product knowledge, uphold visual standards and enhance the in‑store experience through merchandising and community engagement.

Required profile

• Proven retail leadership experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales and service metrics.
• Strong interpersonal style – warm, compassionate and able to inspire and develop team members.
• Comfort working in a scented environment and passion for wellness products.
• Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and a vacation blackout period (Nov 15‑Jan 15).
• High school diploma (or equivalent) and a personal commitment to wellness.
