Customer Service Representative – Ottawa

About the role

The Customer Service Representative works at the Canadian Tire store on Heron Road, providing friendly and efficient service to shoppers. The role involves handling inquiries, processing sales, returns and exchanges, and maintaining a welcoming store environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile, make eye contact, and thank them by name when possible.
• Guide shoppers to product locations and answer questions in person or over the phone.
• Operate the cash register, POS system, and other electronic devices to process purchases, returns and exchanges.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, ensure labels, facing and cleanliness are up to standard.
• Balance cash drawers, verify quantities and prices, and report any discrepancies.
• Identify and report security issues, stolen or damaged goods, and customer concerns to management.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions and contribute ideas for store improvements.

Required profile

• Basic math and typing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently with computerized cash‑register and POS systems.
• Organizational ability and capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Prior experience in a customer‑service or retail environment is an asset.
• Positive attitude, punctuality and solid work ethic.
