Director, Finance and Procurement

About the role

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, a 321-bed academic and teaching hospital in Georgian Bay, Ontario, is hiring a Director, Finance and Procurement. The role is responsible for the stewardship and strategic deployment of the organization's financial resources, supporting its mission and long-term vision. It covers financial planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, accounting and financial reporting, payroll, transactional finance and procurement. Key responsibilities

• Ensure the organization has the financial infrastructure, controls and insights needed to make informed decisions and deliver high-quality care.
• Strengthen financial processes and use data and technology to inform decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Work closely with clinical, operational and corporate leaders to foster collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with broader public sector requirements and best practices.

Required profile

• CPA-designated professional with broad experience across core finance functions such as financial planning and analysis, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls.
• Healthcare experience is an asset; candidates from other complex environments such as the public sector, government, higher education, research institutions and select private sector organizations are also considered.
• Experience using financial systems, data analytics and process improvement to strengthen performance and inform decisions.
• Comfortable leading teams through change and building relationships across complex organizations.
