Development Coordinator, Faculty of Medicine

About the role

The UBC Faculty of Medicine is seeking a Development Coordinator to join its health‑care philanthropy team. In this position you will support donor stewardship, high‑quality events, meetings and alumni programs, contributing to the faculty’s annual $90 M fundraising effort.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and implementation of new unit initiatives aligned with UBC’s strategic plan.
• Ensure donor recognition, acknowledgement and stewardship programs are in place.
• Maintain expert use of the university’s donor and alumni database.
• Write donor and prospect solicitation materials and correspondence.
• Research and draft fundraising proposals for senior management.
• Develop analytical reports as requested by management.
• Process donor gifts, pledges and receipts accurately.
• Develop and maintain processes and procedures as needed.
• Accommodate flexible hours to attend events and meetings.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of one year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including those in conflict with one’s own.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal abilities.
• Effective computer skills.
• Proven ability to interact positively with staff, managers and donors.
