Partnerships, Communications, and Student Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Asia Forest Research Centre (AFRC) at UBC seeks a coordinator to build and manage partnerships, develop digital communications, and support international student success. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Asian Strategies, the role blends student advising, brand promotion, and grant development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide academic and non‑academic advising, orientation and placement support for Chinese incoming cohorts, coordinating work‑learn, co‑op and research opportunities.
• Develop and maintain AFRC’s website, social media channels and digital content to strengthen brand presence and disseminate program updates.
• Lead the full grant application cycle, build a funding pipeline, and manage post‑award compliance and financial reporting.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum four years of related experience, including at least two years in business analysis or project management.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM and student information systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with UBC Workday system.
