About the role
StandardAero is seeking a Detail Inspector for its Helicopter Business Unit in Winnipeg. You will assess, document, and determine the condition and repair requirements of aircraft components undergoing overhaul or repair, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer standards.
Key responsibilities
- Determine and document product configuration and modification status.
- Perform detailed inspections to assess condition and verify readiness for evaluation.
- Identify non‑conforming conditions and decide on repairability.
- Record inspection results accurately using the appropriate documentation systems.
- Generate cost estimates for replacement parts and labor.
- Prepare repair documentation for unserviceable products.
- Inspect components within the Reduced to Spares (RTS) process.
- Support and supervise trainees during on‑the‑job training.
- Participate in continuous‑improvement and cross‑training initiatives.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 + years experience reading technical blueprints, schematics or engineering drawings.
- At least 1 year hands‑on experience with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Ability to sit for extended periods (2 + hours) during inspections.
- Completion of a formal technical training program or ability to complete the Detail Inspector Training & Development Plan.
- Minimum 1 year experience producing technical documentation or inspection reports.
Required skills
- Technical blueprint interpretation.
- Use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Technical documentation and inspection reporting.
- Production management system usage.
- Cost estimating for parts and labor.
- Familiarity with technical publications (charts, graphs, manuals).
