Design Engineering Associate Specialist – Mechanical Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineering Associate Specialist to join General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. In this role you will lead full‑life‑cycle mechanical design activities for vehicle subsystems, ensuring fit, form and functionality while meeting stringent customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute component and assembly level design tasks across assigned subsystems and report progress to supervisors.
• Perform peer reviews and collaborate with technical leads or mentors.
• Support test planning, execution and reporting under guidance of test leads.
• Develop and validate designs for hull additions, structures, mobility, propulsion and survivability systems.
• Conduct simulations and modeling, including mine blast analysis using LS‑Dyna.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering background with experience in vehicle or land‑system design.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex design challenges.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with LS‑Dyna for structural and blast simulations.
