Senior Project Manager – Mechanical Engineering

About the role
As a Senior Project Manager, Engineering (Mechanical) you will lead large, high‑value capital projects that support Nestlé’s manufacturing operations in Canada. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery from feasibility studies through commissioning and close‑out, ensuring safety, compliance and value creation.
Key responsibilities
- Lead complex capital investment projects from concept to close‑out, developing business cases and securing funding.
- Own scope, schedule, cost, risk and change management in line with Nestlé Capital Governance.
- Champion Environmental, Health & Safety throughout all project phases and ensure compliance with GMPs, building codes and legislation.
- Provide technical oversight for electrical, automation, processing, packaging, utilities and infrastructure systems.
- Manage engineering consultants, OEMs, contractors and suppliers, influencing cross‑functional stakeholders without direct authority.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Automation or related discipline; P.Eng or EIT designation strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive engineering and project‑management experience in regulated manufacturing (food, confectionery, pharma, etc.).
- Proven track record delivering brownfield capital projects in live manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated safety leadership and strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
Required skills
- Electrical and controls systems knowledge (single‑line diagrams, PLC architectures, HMI, P&IDs, controls networks).
- Hands‑on experience with Factory Automation Systems (FAS), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), PLCs, HMIs, motion control and industrial robotics.
- Working knowledge of utilities systems such as refrigeration, compressed air, boilers and natural gas.
- Proficiency with MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP (procurement and project transactions) and MS Office applications.
