Deals Strategy Senior Associate

About the role

PwC Canada is hiring a Deals Strategy Senior Associate in its Advisory practice, within the Value Creation line of service. The role works with clients to define strategic ambitions and turn them into actionable plans, covering growth strategy, strategic planning, market entry and commercial due diligence. It follows the departure of a valued team member.

Key responsibilities

• Define clients' strategic ambitions and develop actionable plans for long-term growth
• Run strategy development processes, including assessments, option evaluation and prioritization of initiatives
• Work with executives on organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including acquisitions, partnerships and new market expansion
• Use data analysis to identify growth or operational enhancement opportunities and support their execution
• Help build growth plans, channel strategies and product strategies, and develop business models, cost reduction targets and implementation plans
• Identify quick wins to improve earnings and help design turnaround or transformation programs

Required profile

• Advisory experience from a management consultancy or as an internal consultant in a multinational corporation
• Experience with business strategy, strategy deployment programs or strategic transformation programs
• Fluency in English, plus French, as collaboration with English-speaking clients and colleagues is required
• Ability to travel occasionally throughout Canada, with potential travel outside Canada; must be able to enter the USA for client assignments

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills, including spreadsheets, financial and operational KPIs
• Comfort with P&L analysis, cash flow and balance sheet work
• Understanding of the M&A lifecycle: transaction strategy, due diligence, value creation planning and post-transaction execution
• Executive communication and presentation skills, including executive-ready PowerPoint deliverables

The salary range is $77,500 - $127,500, and eligible employees may participate in variable incentive pay programs. The position is open to candidates who need accommodation during the application and hiring process.
