Data Analyst – Full-time Permanent

About the role

Our client in Newmarket, Ontario is seeking a Data Analyst to transform field‑collected data into actionable insights that support decision‑making for internal teams and utility clients. The role is full‑time, permanent, and primarily onsite, with occasional remote overtime work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, validate, and analyse data captured through a proprietary mobile reporting platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards and visualisations for internal and client use.
• Perform quality‑assurance on incoming datasets, investigating inconsistencies or anomalies.
• Maintain and optimise reporting databases, data sources, security and metadata.
• Troubleshoot reporting issues and implement improvements to enhance data quality and performance.
• Automate data‑cleansing, validation and reporting processes.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers and clients to define reporting requirements and deliver data solutions.
• Prepare data extracts and support integrations with external systems, including GIS and enterprise databases.
• Train internal staff and clients on reporting tools and dashboard functionality.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
• Experience working with large datasets and relational databases.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, PivotTables and VBA.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and database querying.
