Support Analyst I – Desktop Services

About the role

The Support Analyst I provides technical advice and hands‑on support for desktop computers, virtual desktops, peripherals, Macs and local area networks for the UBC Point Grey Campus and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software across the micro‑computer environment.
• Track, prioritize and resolve service requests using the internal ticketing system.
• Deploy and update standard and UBC‑developed software.
• Install, configure and support desktop hardware, peripherals and network connections.
• Maintain inventory records, service contracts and warranty agreements.
• Provide daily LAN administration and support.
• Deliver training, consultation and remote assistance to end users.
• Document procedures, create training materials and contribute to system lifecycle planning.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science preferred).
• Minimum two years of related IT support experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non‑technical staff.
