Assistant or Associate Professor in Computer Engineering

About the role

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UBC seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor or a tenured/tenure‑track Associate Professor in Computer Engineering with a focus on computing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an independent, internationally recognized research program that attracts external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer engineering, including foundational and specialized topics.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to departmental, university, and professional service.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
• Evidence of research excellence or strong potential, demonstrated through publications in leading venues.
• Demonstrated teaching ability or potential at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Eligibility to obtain Professional Engineer registration with EGBC within five years of appointment.
