Programmer Systems Analyst II – Campus-wide Applications

About the role

The Programmer Systems Analyst II designs, develops, integrates and supports complex campus‑wide applications at UBC. The role also advocates for departmental needs, coaches business decision makers and manages the full application lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Document and facilitate ERP and API/Enterprise Data Object integrations, maintaining business documentation.
• Implement and maintain departmental and enterprise applications, coordinating integration with other UBC systems.
• Troubleshoot complex application failures, perform architecture and configuration analysis, and modify applications to meet specifications.
• Gather and analyze client requirements, produce functional specifications, and manage change requests.
• Conduct system audits, develop procedures to ensure availability, security and data integrity, and generate performance reports.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Minimum five years of related experience or equivalent education/experience combination.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems in complex network environments.
• Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, ASP.NET, PHP and Java.
• Knowledge of web servers including Microsoft Internet Information Server and Apache.
• Experience designing, developing and integrating APIs/EDOs and ERP systems.
