About the role
The Department of Economics at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach ECON 208-003 Microeconomic Analysis and Applications during the Fall 2026 term. This part‑time, semester‑long appointment involves delivering lectures, guiding discussions, and assessing student performance.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver weekly lectures on demand and supply, consumer behaviour, production theory, market structures and income distribution.
- Prepare course materials, assignments, and examinations.
- Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain office hours or virtual support for student queries.
- Collaborate with department staff to ensure course quality.
Required profile
- Doctoral‑level study in Economics (completed PhD or comprehensive exams).
- Demonstrated high‑quality teaching ability or strong communication skills with potential for teaching excellence.
- Specialization closely aligned with microeconomic theory.
- Experience as a teaching assistant is an asset.
Required skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Ability to convey complex economic concepts clearly.
