Corporate Services Manager – Toronto

About the role

Our Toronto office is looking for a Manager of Corporate Services to lead the local Corporate Services team while also providing senior law clerk support for a busy corporate practice. Reporting to the Senior Director of Paralegals and Law Clerks, you will work closely with counterparts in Calgary and Vancouver.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure firm standards, procedures and goals are followed and projects progress in the Toronto office.
• Act as communication conduit between Toronto law clerks and senior leadership.
• Monitor workload, allocate assignments evenly and oversee client deadlines, filings and renewals.
• Participate in recruitment, orientation, coaching and training of Corporate Services team members.
• Develop and update Ontario and Federal corporate precedents and processes under the Technical Advisor.
• Recommend billing rates, fixed fees and monitor profitability.
• Manage internal client relationships and propose service improvements.
• Attend International Practice Management Association meetings and report on industry trends.
• Perform senior law clerk duties, including drafting legal documentation for corporate transactions.

Required profile

• Experience managing a corporate services or legal support team in a law firm environment.
• Strong understanding of Ontario and Federal corporate law procedures.
• Proven ability to monitor workloads, meet client deadlines and manage profitability.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with senior directors and practice group chairs.
• Willingness to participate in recruitment, training and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of corporate documentation drafting for Ontario and Federal corporations.
• Familiarity with billing structures, fixed‑fee pricing and profitability analysis.
• Ability to develop and maintain legal precedents and process documentation.
