About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team on a temporary full‑time day shift (10:30 am – 6:00 pm). The role supports residents in our senior living community by preparing nutritious meals and snacks.
Key responsibilities
- Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
- Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and menu documents.
- Provide prescribed diets at appropriate temperatures and portion sizes.
- Monitor quality of food supplies and report issues.
- Assume departmental operations in the team leader’s absence, including menu changes and ordering supplies.
- Assist in orientation and training of new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Minimum Grade 12 education.
- Valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
- Experience cooking in institutional, health‑care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
- Positive attitude and ability to meet standards.
Required skills
- Safe Food Handling certification.
- Smart Serve certification.
