Controller – Finance Transformation Lead

About the role

Our client, a well‑capitalized Canadian organization, is expanding rapidly and seeks a Controller to lead the finance function. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will own core reporting, controllership, and strategic finance initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the annual external audit and coordinate with auditors.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and reporting processes.
• Produce management reporting, financial analysis, budgets and forecasts.
• Drive process‑improvement projects to increase efficiency and scalability.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives, including ERP optimization, reporting enhancements and automation.
• Support acquisition‑related activities and business integration projects.
• Partner with operational leaders to improve financial processes and decision‑making.
• Help build and develop the growing finance team.
• Participate in special projects as required.

Required profile

• CPA designation (required).
• Big 6 public‑accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Progressive accounting experience in both public accounting and industry.
• Strong technical accounting and IFRS reporting expertise.
• Proven experience managing external audits and complex reporting.
• Track record of improving processes and implementing scalable controls.
• Experience with ERP systems, finance transformation or system implementations (asset).
• Exposure to acquisitions or integration activities (asset).
• Excellent analytical, communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Collaborative, hands‑on approach in a fast‑paced environment.
