Fundraising Director

About the role

SikhRI is seeking a hands‑on, strategic Fundraising Director to design and operate a predictable, diversified fundraising engine. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board, the Director will set a 3‑5‑year fundraising strategy while personally managing donor reporting, CRM, collateral and performance tracking.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive 3‑5‑year fundraising strategy aligned with organizational OKRs.
• Identify, cultivate and close high‑level transformational gifts (five‑ and six‑figure) from high‑net‑worth individuals, family foundations and grantmakers.
• Maintain donor CRM data integrity, segment donors, prepare reports, board dashboards and impact updates.
• Partner with the CEO and Board to ensure leadership is due‑diligence ready and actively engaged in donor networking.
• Lead and mentor a small fundraising team while handling core executional tasks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of senior‑level nonprofit fundraising or executive management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE certification mandatory.
• Proven track record securing major gifts of $100K+ and building long‑term donor loyalty.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time across North America and occasionally to the UK and Australia.
• Deep commitment to Sikh teachings and the mission of providing Guru‑inspired educational resources.
