Controller – Finance Leader for Growing Company

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations of our organization. You will initially shadow the current fractional controller for 3‑4 months, then take full ownership and modernize the finance and administrative backbone of Crocodile. This is an office‑first, owner‑operator position with strong upside for a finance leader.

Key responsibilities

• Learn existing systems and workflows before implementing improvements.
• Take full ownership of finance, reporting, cash visibility, and core controls.
• Improve efficiency through better processes, integrations, and emerging technology.
• Manage adjacent business administration such as insurance, leases, and related matters.
• Build trust with a young, ambitious team and grow with the business.
• Lead budgeting, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• Proven ability to maintain and improve internal controls, cash‑management processes, and compliance workflows.
• Hands‑on experience with cash‑flow forecasting, treasury routines, and daily cash awareness.
• Experience owning annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and KPI dashboards with measurable impact.
• Ability to translate financial data into clear insights and recommendations for leadership.
• Demonstrated financial stewardship and integrity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain financial concepts to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Thrives in an ambitious, office‑first team and contributes positively to culture.
