Contract Plant Operator – SAGD Facility

About the role

The Contract Plant Operator will join the SAGD processing facility at Christina Lake on a 12‑hour rotating schedule. This 1‑year contract position is fly‑in/fly‑out with camp accommodations and requires safe, efficient operation of plant equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot area‑specific equipment to meet production targets.
• Perform condition monitoring, sampling and testing, and act on results.
• Complete operational rounds and log actions electronically.
• Mentor and train new employees on‑the‑job.
• Support maintenance by preparing equipment for planned work using LOTO procedures.
• Participate in walk‑arounds, informal LOTO and HSE safety audits.
• Execute housekeeping tasks, document findings and conduct handover meetings.

Required profile

• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Minimum 2 years operating experience; 3‑5 years preferred.
• Previous SAGD experience preferred.
• Fourth‑Class Power Engineering Certificate (Third‑Class preferred).
• Ability to pass pre‑employment medical, drug/alcohol screening and provide a driver’s abstract if required.
