About the role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead power‑plant construction activities for a Michigan‑based client. This 9‑month contract role involves overseeing labor, materials, equipment, and schedule compliance on complex plant projects.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate outages, shutdowns, inspections, and project milestones with plant owners and customer representatives.
- Manage budgets, labor hours, and schedules to keep the project on target.
- Supervise field crews and subcontractors working on boiler, steam‑generation, emissions‑control, electrical, and other power‑plant equipment.
- Plan and coordinate daily work activities, manpower, and equipment needs.
- Enforce safety procedures, conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Monitor quality of installation to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
- Track progress, resolve field issues, and report status to project managers and leadership.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing construction projects in power‑plant environments.
- Strong ability to work directly with owners, customers, and subcontractors.
- Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to safety as the top priority.

What we offer
- Generous hourly rate of $130
- Daily per diem of $178 (7 days a week)
- 9‑month contract assignment
- Day‑shift schedule: 5 × 10 hour days, moving to 6 × 10 hour days as demolition ramps up
