Construction Labourer (Electrical Projects)

About the role

The Construction Labourer supports crew leads on high‑voltage electrical projects, performing general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, and site clean‑up. Reporting to the Construction Manager, the role also involves safe use of hand tools and, when required, operating company vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions, including digging, lifting, cable pulling and moving materials.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, including regular clean‑up and snow removal when needed.
• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, reporting any maintenance needs.
• Assist equipment operators by securing attachments and guiding equipment and material movement.
• Use and maintain basic hand tools safely.

Required profile

• Minimum education equivalent to Grade 10; High School Diploma preferred.
• At least 1 year of construction experience, preferably in medium‑ to high‑voltage environments.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 55 lb and working at heights of at least 9 ft.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and after‑hours.
• Proficient in reading, writing and understanding English.
• Safety‑sensitive position requiring pre‑employment drug/alcohol testing and background checks.

Required skills

• Basic hand‑tool operation.
• Vehicle operation and basic maintenance reporting.
• Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) certification (asset).

What we offer

• Flexible schedule rotations (e.g., 4 days on/3 days off, 10 days on/4 days off, etc.).
• Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half after 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
• Out‑of‑town work with either all‑inclusive camp accommodations or individual lodging, depending on the project.
