About the role
As an MEP Coordinator you will oversee daily operations related to the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the station/guideway, coordinating subcontractors, conducting site visits, and escalating risks to the MEP Manager. The role works closely with architectural, structural coordinators, contractors, labor teams and key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project design.
Key responsibilities
- Review and execute mechanical (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, and fire‑suppression system designs, including calculations, equipment selection and layout planning.
- Oversee implementation of MEP systems during construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards and project timelines.
- Review shop drawings, as‑builts and redlines, and coordinate with project managers, architects and contractors.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, adjusting as needed to meet milestones.
- Supervise installation and commissioning of MEP systems on‑site, conducting inspections and testing for performance, safety and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain project files, correspondence and documentation for permits, approvals and regulatory compliance.
- Provide regular status reports on milestones, progress and schedule adjustments.
Required profile
- Engineering, Engineering Technologist or Construction Technology diploma, degree or post‑grad certificate.
- 3‑5 years experience as an MEP Field Engineer or MEP Coordinator, preferably in heavy civil or transit projects.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (G or G2) and willingness to travel to sites across Toronto.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
