Project Manager – Western Canada

About the role

The Project Manager will act as the owner’s representative for new‑build commercial retail developments across Western Canada. Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, the role is responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget and to Choice Properties’ quality standards while coordinating with leasing, finance and legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules to support leasing negotiations and capital committee approvals.
• Lead procurement processes, including RFPs, bid evaluations, contract negotiations and award.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams—architects, engineers, contractors, municipalities and vendors—through all lifecycle phases.
• Obtain permits, ensure regulatory compliance, and monitor construction execution to meet deadlines and quality standards.
• Track project performance, manage contingencies, and report status to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of progressive construction project management experience, including at least 5 years on ground‑up commercial retail projects.
• Experience with commercial developers, REITs or construction managers is an asset.
• University degree or college diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• Professional designations such as PMP, GSC, P.Eng. are considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel across Western Canada.
