Construction Foreman

About the role

Gemco Construction Ltd is seeking a full‑time Construction Foreman to lead daily operations on civil construction sites in the Fraser Valley, BC. The foreman will coordinate crews, subcontractors and equipment to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and site instructions.
• Plan work sequences, assign tasks to crews and monitor progress.
• Coordinate heavy equipment usage and ensure safe operation on site.
• Perform quality checks, inspect work for compliance and document any issues.
• Maintain site safety, cleanliness and adherence to provincial safety standards.
• Communicate updates to supervisors and project managers and resolve on‑site problems.
• Provide hands‑on support and mentor crew members as needed.

Required profile

• Proven supervisory experience in a foreman, lead‑hand or similar construction role.
• Practical knowledge of civil engineering principles applied to construction projects.
• Strong communication skills for directing crews and collaborating with subcontractors.
• Commitment to safety practices and familiarity with provincial safety regulations.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Relevant trade certification or technical training in construction or civil works is an asset.
