Computer Support Specialist

About the role

The College is seeking a Computer Support Specialist to provide front‑line technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining a wide range of hardware and software, as well as supporting audio‑visual and networking infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and video‑conferencing equipment; install and update software, operating systems, and security patches.
• Provide first‑line support for hardware and software issues, advising users on appropriate solutions.
• Manage help‑desk tickets, ensuring accurate documentation, prioritisation, and timely resolution.
• Operate and troubleshoot audio‑visual systems for on‑site and remote events, including Microsoft Teams.
• Monitor network connectivity, maintain cabling, switches, and security camera systems, and perform routine performance testing.
• Diagnose hardware malfunctions, perform minor repairs, and support remote users via VPN, remote desktops, and mobile device access.
• Promote cybersecurity best practices and educate users on safe computing.
• Create and maintain user accounts and file permissions in accordance with institutional policies.

Required profile

• Diploma in Information Technology or related field (equivalencies considered).
• Experience in a technical support environment with a focus on troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to deliver exceptional client service.
• Professionalism and ability to uphold confidentiality.
