Clinical Instructor – Personal Support Worker Program

About the role

The Halton District School Board is seeking a qualified Clinical Instructor to support the Personal Support Worker (PSW) program. The instructor will supervise students during a 110‑hour supervised clinical practicum in a long‑term care facility, ensuring safe, competent, and ethical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Organise student placements and provide on‑site instruction, mentorship and supervision during clinical shifts.
• Assess and evaluate student performance against PSW Quality Assurance Guidelines and Training Standards.
• Collaborate with the lead instructor and facility preceptors to align instruction, assessment and placement logistics.
• Maintain accurate records and support student orientation and onboarding activities.

Required profile

• Current RN or RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario; OCT qualification preferred.
• Minimum two years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in long‑term or community care, with experience in supervision or training.
• Experience teaching or supervising co‑operative education or clinical placements is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace) and software such as Aspen, Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Strong conflict‑prevention and decision‑making abilities; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
