Claims Specialist – Liability

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking a Claims Specialist in Toronto to manage bodily injury and property damage claims for commercial liability lines. The role focuses on delivering excellent, customer‑centric service while adhering to established protocols and authority limits.

Key responsibilities

• Document and update claim files for low to moderate exposure commercial liability claims.
• Determine liability, coverage, and policy verification using relevant law and policy wording.
• Develop case strategies, set reserves, negotiate settlements and ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain data integrity, comply with regulatory notifications and protect confidential information.
• Communicate proactively with customers, manage vendor relationships and refer potential subrogation or fraud cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience handling general liability or automobile bodily injury claims.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims, policy wordings and coverage limits.
• Detail‑oriented, results‑driven with solid time‑management and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Office 365 productivity tools.
• Excellent written and presentation communication.
