Claims Fraud and Investigations Manager

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking a Claims Fraud and Investigations Manager to lead a team that prevents, detects, and investigates suspected insurance fraud. Reporting to the AVP, Investigative and Recovery Services, you will oversee daily operations, provide technical expertise on complex fraud matters, and develop strategies to enhance fraud detection and organizational savings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Claims Fraud Investigations team and ensure high‑quality investigative services.
• Review, triage, and assign investigative referrals to appropriate investigators.
• Provide counter‑fraud education to adjusters and management on fraud indicators and trends.
• Deliver professional investigation reports with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Monitor complex investigations, including arbitration and litigation matters.
• Conduct quarterly quality audits and periodic reviews of investigations.
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, and training.
• Collect, analyze, and report fraud‑related data to support management reporting and strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with at least 6 years of experience in insurance fraud or investigations.
• Leadership and people‑management experience.
• Project management experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain anti‑fraud certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively across business units.

Required skills

• Anti‑fraud certification (must obtain and maintain).
• Knowledge of claims handling processes and fraud statutes.
