Civil Engineer – On-site (Kelowna/Comox)

About the role

Design Works Engineering, a multi‑discipline engineering firm, is looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to join its growing civil team. This on‑site role will be based in either the Kelowna or Comox office and involves both field inspections and design work on municipal and land‑development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field inspections and site visits for various civil engineering projects.
• Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and designs using Civil 3D.
• Produce engineering reports, analyses, construction cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents.
• Conduct calculations for water, sewer, and drainage systems.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in civil engineering with at least 5 years of municipal/land‑development experience.
• Registered professional engineer in good standing with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including building Civil 3D templates.
• Ability to multi‑task, work under pressure with minimal supervision, and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
