Skilled Ground Worker – Kearl Mine Site

About the role

North American Construction Group (NACG) is hiring skilled ground workers for its remote Kearl mining site near Fort McMurray. The role involves maintaining site cleanliness, handling equipment, and supporting daily operations on a 14‑day rotation schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Steam clean equipment as required.
• Seasonal snow removal around the shop and parking lot.
• Operate fork trucks to move parts and other items.
• Drive company vehicles to transport parts and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislative safety policies.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Review safe‑work plans and hazard assessments before starting tasks.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a labourer role; 1 year mine experience preferred.
• Physically fit, able to lift 50 lb and work outdoors.
• Safety‑first attitude with strong listening skills.
• High school diploma (GED) or post‑secondary education considered an asset.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and recent driver’s abstract.
• Current CSO certification and Wood Buffalo wildlife (bear) awareness ticket.
