Part-Time Attendant II / Maintenance Helper

About the role

The Attendant II (Maintenance Helper) supports the Facilities team by keeping public spaces clean, safe and welcoming. Reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities, you will interact with staff, visitors and elected officials while helping deliver essential community services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of public washrooms, changerooms and common areas.
• Maintain exterior cleanliness, empty garbage, remove snow and apply salt.
• Assist with ice‑resurfacing and pool‑reading tasks under supervision.
• Respond to public and staff inquiries and provide assistance as needed.
• Set up and tear down facility spaces according to booking schedules.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

• Self‑motivated, solutions‑oriented and able to communicate clearly.
• Attentive listener who asks clarifying questions.
• Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and sound judgment when dealing with the public.
• Eager to learn new tasks and contribute ideas.
• Works well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
