Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) & Director of IT Infrastructure

About the role

The City of Hamilton is seeking a senior leader to oversee enterprise cybersecurity and the entire IT infrastructure program across roughly 180 sites. Reporting to the CIO, the CISO & Director will shape strategy, protect information assets, and manage a team of about 45 professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the city’s security and infrastructure strategy, including standards, architecture, and technology road‑maps.
• Lead the IT Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams, overseeing data centre, network, telephony and related services.
• Direct cyber incident response, business continuity planning, and compliance with security regulations.
• Review and approve infrastructure and application projects for security compliance.
• Manage contracts, RFPs, and vendor relationships for security hardware and services.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity leadership and IT infrastructure management.
• Proven ability to develop strategic plans and influence senior management.
• Strong knowledge of security regulations, standards and compliance processes.
• Experience overseeing large, multi‑disciplinary teams and complex projects.
