About the role

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the Canadian Credit Union Association, representing 156 credit unions and over six million members across Canada. This senior executive role guides the organization through a rapidly changing financial services landscape while upholding cooperative values.

Key responsibilities

• Steer CCUA through regulatory shifts, system transformation, consolidation and evolving member needs.
• Act as the primary national and international ambassador for the credit union sector.
• Unite diverse stakeholders, deepen advocacy, and elevate the visibility and reputation of credit unions.
• Lead a high‑performing team and collaborate closely with an engaged Board of Directors.
• Influence public policy, strengthen system collaboration, and ensure credit unions remain competitive and innovative.

Required profile

• Graduate degree or MBA, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of enterprise‑level executive leadership in financial services, a regulated sector, a trade association, or a cooperative organization.
• Proven strategic clarity with ability to integrate long‑ and short‑term implications.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills and ability to build trust across a national network.
• Agile change leader who fosters innovation and balances urgency with thoughtful execution.
