Chief & Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Associate/Full Professor)

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the McGill University Health Centre are seeking a senior academic physician to serve as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chair of the McGill University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The role combines strategic, operational and academic leadership across the university network and affiliated hospitals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the department’s clinical, teaching, and research missions across multiple sites.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, mentorship, promotion, tenure processes and foster an inclusive governance structure.
• Represent the department in university and health‑system councils, build partnerships, and drive innovation in women’s health.

Required profile

• Established academic physician with a strong record in research, education and clinical care in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Demonstrated experience in senior administration, team building, and change management within a complex academic health centre.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including hospitals, research institutes, and governmental agencies.
