Chef de Partie – Italian Cuisine

About the role

Sofia is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie to lead the Italian kitchen at our bustling Toronto restaurant. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, delivering high‑quality dishes for daily service and special events while mentoring junior cooks.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the kitchen team.
• Instruct cooks on preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of Italian dishes.
• Prepare and cook meals for regular service, special guests, and functions.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies, maintain inventory, and keep accurate records.
• Plan menus, ensure food meets quality and safety standards.
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, conduct inspections of work areas.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
• Strong leadership, dependability, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and stand for extended periods.
• Team‑player attitude with a focus on detail and consistency.
