Buyer – Procurement of Chemicals & Components

About the role

The Buyer will lead the sourcing and replenishment of cost‑effective, high‑quality chemicals, fragrances, aerosols and componentry to support corporate customer fill‑rate goals. Working closely with product development, R&D and production teams, the role ensures materials are obtained at the best price while meeting all quality and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source chemicals, fragrances, aerosols and components in partnership with Product Development and R&D.
• Generate purchase orders, track ETAs and update the Syspro ERP system.
• Identify sourcing opportunities with Production, Engineering and Maintenance to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Coordinate sample requests for new product development and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Mitigate excess and obsolescence through effective inventory management.
• Communicate raw‑material requirements for new product launches across departments.
• Ensure supplier compliance in collaboration with R&D and Regulatory teams.
• Provide back‑fill support for team members and handle ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably with liquid fill componentry.
• Background in the pharmaceutical or health‑beauty industry is an asset.
• University degree in a related field; SCMP designation or other supply‑chain certifications are a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with online sourcing and procurement tools.
• Experience using Syspro or similar ERP systems.
