Bilingual Support Worker – Supported Independent Living

About the role

St. Amant is creating a pool of casual bilingual support workers for its Supported Independent Living (SIL) program. Shifts are available on weekdays and weekends, covering evenings, nights and daytime hours near St. Boniface University.

Key responsibilities

• Provide residential and community‑based support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism or acquired brain injury.
• Assist with daily living routines, health monitoring, personal care and safety.
• Promote dignity, self‑determination and personal outcomes while encouraging community engagement and relationship building.
• Collaborate with a community‑based Team Leader and multidisciplinary staff.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or GED and a valid Manitoba driver’s licence.
• Ability to obtain CPR and Emergency First Aid certification.
• Clear criminal record checks (Vulnerable Sector, Child/Adult Abuse, Prior Contact).
• Positive, energetic, self‑directed attitude with physical ability to support clients.

Required skills

• Basic cooking and household management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective oral and written communication in English; French is an asset for bilingual positions.
