Associate Director, Private Equity Fund - Client Onboarding Specialist

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, which provides asset servicing solutions to the global investment management industry, is hiring a Client Onboarding Specialist for its Private Equity Fund team in Toronto. The role acts as the client's main point of contact during onboarding, managing new client and fund launches and conversions, and works in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the client's main point of contact throughout onboarding and establish a productive rapport.
• Project manage new client/fund launches and conversions, coordinating the hand-off from the Sales Team to the Client Integration Team.
• Prepare administration agreements based on existing templates and ensure they are presented, reviewed and signed off by the appropriate parties.
• Act as a subject matter expert on internal MUFG systems across private equity, real estate and debt fund mandates.
• Work on large onboarding projects and liaise with banks, auditors, brokers, custodians and internal groups to set up communication channels, accounts, systems and due diligence.
• Provide expertise, direction and leadership to the operations team, and perform and review internal accounting and shareholder service system set-ups.
• Respond to clients to deliver superior customer service and ensure full compliance with ISAE/SOC standards for new fund onboarding or conversion.
• Complete and sign off internal checklists, and support the rollout of new products and banking services.

Required profile

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in the Private Equity/Real Estate funds industry.
• Third-level qualification or college undergraduate degree desirable.
• Client-focused with a proven ability to manage client relationships.
• Previous project experience, preferably leading or holding a senior role in client onboarding projects.
