Associate Dean Rural & Head of Rural Clinical Campuses

About the role

The University of New South Wales seeks an experienced academic leader to serve as Associate Dean Rural and Head of Rural Clinical Campuses within the Faculty of Medicine & Health. This senior position provides strategic direction and operational oversight for multiple rural teaching sites.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior academic and clinical leadership across all Rural Clinical Campuses.
• Advise the Faculty and University on rural health matters and policy.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations, staff stewardship, and quality assurance of medical education and research.
• Foster strong relationships with local health districts, hospitals and community partners.
• Integrate clinical practice, education, research and innovation in rural settings.

Required profile

• Current appointment at Associate Professor or Professor level (Level D‑E).
• Extensive experience in rural health education and academic leadership.
• Ability to travel regularly between rural campuses (Wagga Wagga, Port Macquarie, etc.) and occasional metropolitan sites.
• Full work rights in Australia; visa sponsorship not available.
